More About Me

For Carol Layman, real estate has always been about more
than houses — it's about people, possibilities, and helping someone move
confidently toward whatever comes next. As an agent with Better Homes and
Gardens Real Estate Winans in Sherman, she has spent more than a decade walking
alongside buyers and sellers throughout North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, from
Sherman and Denison across Grayson County and into the neighboring communities
she knows and loves.

Carol came to real estate after 34 years as a teacher, coach, and school
counselor — and that heart for helping people has never left her. She listens
before she advises, explains things in a way that actually makes sense, and
takes the time to make sure her clients feel informed and cared for every step
of the way. Whether she's helping a nervous first-time buyer, a family selling
a home full of memories, an investor, or someone downsizing into a new season
of life, her goal is always the same: to guide with patience, honesty, and
genuine care.

She's also refreshingly persistent. When a deal gets complicated, Carol doesn't
throw up her hands — she rolls up her sleeves and asks, "Is there another
way?" She loves digging into the details, connecting the right people, and
finding creative solutions that turn "impossible" into
"done." For her sellers, that same devotion shows up in thoughtful
marketing that helps buyers imagine not just a house, but a life there.

At the heart of it all is a belief Carol holds close: home matters. It's where
we build memories, put down roots, and find our footing for the future.
Sometimes real estate is about finding the right house — and sometimes it's
simply about finding a way forward. Either way, Carol would be honored to help
you get there.
